Dodge on Scott d’Amboise’s reaction to debate challenge

October 21, 2011

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SENATE CANDIDATE ANDREW IAN DODGE
ON SCOTT D’AMBOISE’S REACTION
TO DEBATE CHALLENGE

Mr. Scott D'Amboise, declared candidate for Olympia Snowe's Senate seat in the 2012 election,
consistently claims that his character and political beliefs (as a principled conservative) are
above reproach. Yet he refuses to not only debate with his competition, but to even admit the
cowardice of not doing so. To date, in this Senate contest (Mr D'Amboise lost heavily in his
last attempt to win against Congressman Mike Michaud), Mr. D'Amboise has proven to be
significantly more at ease stating theories he cannot prove about the President's religion or
Senator Snowe's business associations.

The Andrew Ian Dodge campaign has formally invited Mr. D'Amboise to debate in public and
explain his beliefs and ideals to his fellow conservatives in an open forum, but this he refuses
to even consider (as has also been the case with Senator Olympia Snowe). Mr D'Amboise's
refusal to debate is not respectful to the people of Maine and suggests that he is no longer
credible to be taken seriously. We believe that standing for election as a state Senator requires
not just character and qualifications (neither of which Mr. D'Amboise has yet demonstrated), but
the courage to put these to the test. How can a true Maine candidate believe otherwise and still
challenge Senator Snowe?
