Why Andrew Ian Dodge left the GOP

As many people have heard or seen in the media I left the Republican Party of Maine on Tuesday of this week to run for US Senate as an independent. I left the party because of the frustration, anger and disgust at the handling of the recent Republican caucus. The fact that Charlie Webster called those who had an issue with the results “wing nuts” displays the arrogance of the elite of the Maine Republican Party. I got involved in politics to spread the message of limited government, free market & fiscal conservative and get people involved with their governance. I cannot be a part of a party that actively discourages and vilifies an informed active electorate.
I wish to thank all those people who have supported this move and stuck by me as I left a party I have been a part of since I was 18. Bring on November and the general election.
